I'll have some pictures from AX up this weekend. :) I got to LA on Day 0 of the convention and actually had time to explore Little Tokyo. (I wish I had known our schedule better so I could invite [livejournal.com profile] tokkichan or meet up somehow since I had a lot of free time that day and on other days.) I was so excited when I found out that Kinokuniya sold the magazine that 1/2 Prince runs in. I bought the latest edition...which sadly is a few chapters ahead of where the manga last ended. I don't want to skip chapters! Haha, we were all spending our money before the convention even started.

Cosplay
Barely anyone recognized Elraine. ): I only cosplayed Double Arts for Day 1. My wig is really terrible. People spot Tadase miles away...must be the bright yellow hair. I dangled Tadase's egg from me with some invisible thread. It must have looked funny. XD; I don't actually have any pics of me with it. I cosplayed Sanjo Kairi later on after I got tired of my wig yet again, but people kept mistaking me for Nagihiko. There were some who recognized me right off and said "the samurai guy!" There were quite a lot of people cosplaying Shugo Chara around. 4 Tadases including me! And of course there were a lot of Amu. I finally got to see [livejournal.com profile] whitelilac's Su and some of the others in the group. <3

Panels
I went to Yun Kouga's panel and got her signature after waiting forever. AX lines are always scary. I didn't have anything for her to sign. =/ I went with [livejournal.com profile] gem2niki to the Gainax and Gurren Lagann panel at night on Day 1. I still haven't watched the series...the movie moves through everything so quickly, I can't tell who's who for the minor characters. The Gurren Lagann documentary at the end was very eye-opening. So much goes into animating a series. The inbetween people who draw the inbetween frames make so little money. 200 yen per page. They only draw around 300 pages a month. I felt bad for Simon's seiyuu who had to keep redoing his line. ^^;;

Main Events
Morning Musume's 321 song was very catchy. I grabbed a random seat that was pretty far from the stage though, so I could barely see them. ): I fell asleep halfway...I must have been tired. Linlin and JunJun (I think those were their names?) spoke English pretty well. One of them asked in Mandarin if there were any Chinese speakers in the audience. AMVs were a bit disappointing. Nothing really stood out. I was surprised that there were series like DNAngel and Bokura ga Ita in the mix. It's always Trigun, Cowboy Bebop and such. The quality of the animation of those series wasn't so great though. AX Idol was entertaining. I really loved the 3rd singer's voice. The voice acting part was more entertaining though. The 2nd contestant who dubbed Kamina did a really good job with his last line. The 3rd guy was just awesome with the random scream at the end. The last guy who dubbed Kenshin really nailed shouting Kenshin's super move, but I do think he had a slightly easier time without having to match the mouth movement. He really went all out though! I found the choice of winners a bit disappointing this year. =/ Masquerade was more disappointing though. I thought the camera really sucked. I didn't have too good of a view of the entire stage. The big screen didn't help. I saw the Shaman King group around the convention before masquerade. Their cosplay was cool, but I don't remember much of their skit. I wish I had caught more of their group around the convention. The camera did catch the OTP skit pretty well. I had to explain to my friend what OTP was. I don't think I explained it very well.

I was so so happy to meet [livejournal.com profile] nitaspitas. ♥ Thanks [livejournal.com profile] yoshikochan for calling me and dealing with my horrible navigation. XD; It took me forever to get from the exhibition hall to West Hall.

I'm slowly going through all my email and all the LJ posts I missed. I have so much stuff tabbed and flagged. Let me know if there's anything interesting I missed!
