I wonder, if I update Memories of the Future, if I'll get any response. :'D

It's been four years since I've last updated it. OTL (This is even worse than taking 3 years to finish writing Bittersweet Sweetness...) Was digging through my documents to see if I could find my partially written Invincible chapters. Came upon my notes for Memories of the Future instead, and whoa, I actually had quite an outline for it! With snippets of future scenes written out already for each chapter!

Lucathia, did you actually write all that?? You're terrible at outlines! T___T; Or even jotting down notes!

Thank goodness for this detailed outline though. I might just be able to finish writing this fic... one day. :'D

I better update all of my current WIPs more so they don't end up in this state ahhhhh. Hm, I was planning on updating Follow the Sign next, but wow, I am stumped. So, moving on...

My year-in-fic! Like every year, I ended up writing a lot less than I'd have liked. I only managed one of my writing resolutions I made for 2010, and that was writing for yuletide. I also realized a few things about my writing (or more like, was reminded of a few things...), and the number one thing is...

- I cannot write without deadlines. The things I wrote this year were almost all for fic exchanges, or they had self-imposed deadlines. (And then there was NaNo with one of the toughest deadlines!)

Maybe I should set more self-imposed deadlines for myself.

I came home very late yesterday and was going to crash after not having slept much at all (I even fell asleep while playing video games with my brother during our family gathering, but right after we stopped shooting zombies and started playing something else, I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore). So yeah, I was going to crash but then Yuletide went live. Of course I had to forgo sleep to get at my gift fics, but even then, I only managed to read one fic before I just couldn't stay awake anymore, and since I stayed up so late and didn't sleep much the day before, it meant I woke up later than usual too. :'D Anyway, on to the lovely fics!

music is no match for happiness (and grandness none for music) (Mekakushi no Kuni, Namiki)
This is just pure love. Namiki is perhaps my most favorite character of all times, except almost no fanwork exists for the series, so I never have the chance to fangirl over him or the series! This piece reminds me why I adore Namiki so much, and it makes me want to read the series all over again (I already have, many times). I also feel like I should be writing the next chapter of my Mekakuni fic, and I think I will after Yuletide. :) The prose in this piece is really beautiful, and Namiki is just so very Namiki. I will be rereading this a lot!

Explore (Noblesse, M-21)
This fic made me giggle a lot. It's just M-21 exploring Frankenstein's house, which is such a normal thing to do, but when it's Frankenstein's house + M-21's paranoia... *g* I was so amused that I couldn't even leave a comment right away since I was busy laughing. Oh M-21. <3 I love him lots, and this fic has him just right. :)

Never Give Up (Tegami Bachi, Vincent Alcott)
Minor character love! It took me a bit to remember who he was. It's been a while since I watched the first season. *g* But oh man, this piece, this piece makes me want to write. I am amazed at how much he was fleshed out here since he doesn't show up much at all in the series. I think I might be in love with this character now, and I am also very inspired by what he goes through here.

Since I was away all day on the 24th, I didn't get to check out the full prompts list for Madness. ): I tried to browse it at my brother's house, but it wasn't like I could write there! I'm still contemplating if I should furiously write a treat in the last few hours before Madness fics go live, but I've also been having doubts about my writing. :') But then, my lovely recipients have been so awesome and have left such nice comments already (it makes me want to write mooore for them), so I guess my writing isn't completely terrible?

I haven't managed to read much other fic yet outside of my gifts, but there are also two awesome Yoroshiku Master fics this year! Both about Rihito. *g* So my Yoroshiku Master craving has been sated (well, mostly). I just have my Oresama Teacher craving left. I suppose I'll have to attack that one day myself. ;)

Stuff about Yuletide that amused me #2: Two of my gifts are exactly the same length at 1092 words. *g* Must be a magical number!

This chapter took much effort. I started writing it during AX in the Artist Alley, but I thought I was being pretty rude typing instead of paying attention to customers, so I stopped pretty quickly, haha. I continued this during some car rides afterward, but the bulk of the writing and editing came later. I think...the slice of life aspect of this story is what stumps me the most. There's no conflict or anything!! I'm just not good enough of a writer to write about nothing happening.

I'm pretty excited though, to discover that Mekakushi no Kuni has been reprinted. Pretty covers! I especially want this one with Namiki and Marota. So buying this the next time I go to Kinokuniya. Man, this means I'll have the Chinese, English, and Japanese versions of this manga. XD

I'm always pushing the deadline for 30_kisses. I wasted too much time over the weekend fixing my scene dividers for my old fics over at FFnet. I'm fine with using horizontal lines for scene dividers from now on for that site...but seriously, did they have to remove the existing dashes and whatnot from old fics? It's a disaster. Some of my fics aren't readable at all without scene dividers. I went through some and gave up on the rest. It's too much to fix. I was going to start reading someone's fic, but since their scene dividers disappeared too, I was turned off from reading right away since the jumbled text is a lot harder to get through. *sigh* I could've spent my time doing more productive stuff than fixing formatting problems.
