Tenipuri Secret Santa exchange on Tumblr! Works are to be posted after December 25th. I received a very fun assignment. I just have to brush up on canon a bit and read the profiles of the characters to make sure I have all the details right.

yuletide assignments are out! Fic is due December 22. I wonder who got matched with me... :3;; I got a pretty cool match. I only offered a handful of fandoms this time, but I was still surprised by what I got. I'm quite happy with it though! Time to review the canon~. I might also try to write one of the fandoms I wasn't matched on, but I'll have to see how I do with my first fic first.

And quite randomly, unrelated to all of the above... Silent Eagle / Awaitsun's character design from the Legend of Sun Knight manhua!!!! Do you feel he looks handsome enough? XDDD He is supposedly the handsomest character ever, one who is so handsome that guys would want to kill him to decrease their rival in love by one. (He reminds me of Ice... Just like Adair and Cloud both reminded me of Ice... Everyone reminds me of Ice... Must be how expressionless they are...) I did not picture him with white hair though. Not at all! I feel he'd look more charismatic with black hair. In fact, the Son of the God of War looks more charismatic with his manhua design! Oh well... I can't wait to see him in the manhua. He'll be showing up in volume 6.

I am so, so close to finishing Bittersweet Sweetness. I am going to finish this fic. 4 parts should do it. (Except, I've been hit with the urge to write a spin-off of it. A BL version. NOOOOoooooo....) Anyway, Part 33 should be done soon. I'm in the middle of editing it, and Part 34 is half written too. I've reread the entire fic again to make sure I'm tying up all of the loose ends (and of course, I get plunnied even more...). I made quite a lot of edits to my document, but I wonder if I should attempt to make all the edits to the three different places I've posted the fic... T__T;)

Everyday, Crunchyroll has something on sale. Today, it was a 1/8 scale model of Echizen Ryoma from Prince of Tennis. Congrats, CR, you have just made me throw down money for my first big model, ahhhhhhhh. (I usually go for the cute small ones instead) But look at how sassy he is!

One day, I still want to get one of Kurama.

Oh man, I had such a good laugh over this series of "scientific" analyses of Shin Tenipuri. If you know any Japanese, I highly recommend this. XD; These videos analyze things like how Tezuka zone works, how fast you'd have to move to hit 8 balls at once, what Atobe's eyes must be like for him to use Atobe Kingdom, how much Tanishi needs to exercise to lose that much weight in that little time, the speed Kenya needs to use to walk across water, and such. Can't say I understood everything, but I couldn't stop laughing. XD There are videos of other series as well, like an analysis of Midorima's full court three pointer from Kuroko no Basket.




I received my books today! \o\ No Hero v8, Human Doll Contract, and Kill No More manhua v1, which also comes with a short story. All Yu Wo stuff. XD; Haven't touched the two novels yet, but I read the Kill No More manhua. I wonder if anyone will be scanlating this? I'm somewhat tempted... but have enough on my plate. The adaptation is so-so at the moment, but I'm always in favor of more Kill No More. ;)

Wow, okay, so I finished buying all of the Tenipuri Kanzenban. All three seasons (my money...). I've just been buying them as they've been released but haven't actually even looked at them. Just received the last volume today! Season 3, volume 12. There are a few pages of extra story after the ending, like an epilogue of sorts! In addition to that, this time's Anopuri features their older selves instead of their younger selves. kaljsd;asf

Tezuka. Age 25.
Momoshiro and Kaidou. Age 24.
Ryoma. Age 23.

(Tezuka, you look like you're in your 40's!!! Momo, you look like a completely different person with long hair!!) Once again, I wish Shinpuri had started with a time skip because I'm very interested in what happened after.

Man, I stopped scanning the kanzenban back in season 1. There are like, 24+ volumes I haven't scanned... Don't know if I'll have time to start scanning again, but I should at least take a pic of the entire collection. kasd;ja

Fandom: Prince of Tennis
Words: 4,480
Summary: AU, high fantasy. Tezuka/Ryoma. There existed many races in the land of Zenkoku, one of which was the mamono, a cruel and heartless race that was born to rule. However, they had one fatal weakness -- their hametsu, a single person they could not bring themselves to harm. Some said a mamono's hametsu was their downfall and never wished to meet them, while others claimed the opposite, that they could not live without their hametsu. But really, Ryoma understood none of this.
Notes: Written for xiahwase for funpotexchange in March. The concept of hametsu was inspired by Yu Wo's novel, GOD. I had a very epic idea... but my execution is not epic at all. OTL. People will never be able to tell that I was actually planning on writing Sanada/Ryoma and Yukimura/Ryoma with how this turned out, hahaha, because they don't even show up in the fic. Perhaps this is better for all characters involved. XD;

I finished writing part 21 of Bittersweet Sweetness! \o/ I'm going to try for...somewhat regular updates, so I tossed the next part into my scheduled LJ posts. The post will magically appear next Tuesday (hopefully with the right formatting). XD;; My goal is to continue writing and hopefully stock up on a lot more chapters so we don't have ridiculous dry-spells... and meanwhile, I'll be working on some other fics too. I'm hoping I can at least finish something before Tuesday, but we'll see...

After reading chapter 176 of Bakuman, the last chapter, I'm in dire need of an epilogue. The ending was touching (Dreams and Reality! 10 years later!), but I really missed the rest of the cast. So I think I will write an epilogue that includes the rest of the cast. My next fic project. ;) It better be a oneshot, and I better finish it in one go. Man, I was so off with my version of "10 years later" when I wrote these two fics around the time chapter 24~25 was out. But gosh, I didn't think the series would actually cover 10 years! For 750words yesterday, I slapped down words in a frenzy, mostly just ideas for the Bakuman fic. 750 words of random snippets and ideas... OTL. How is all this going to come together?

Oh the crack. Is this tennis anymore? The way animators are able to come up with battles revolving around tennis... that's some skill. Halfway through, I felt this was almost RPG'ish.

Bakuman
Finished watching season 2! Ending was awesome! Very touching moment at the end. Great place to stop. I've only just realized that Shizuka Ryu was completely skipped. Makes sense, since he doesn't impact the story much. I wonder if Shiratori's story will be animated? I'm thinking probably, since it throws a wrench into Saiko and Shujin's partnership. Nanamine spotted at the end! Totally looks like a bad guy. XD;

Chihayafuru
Oh gosh, this series. <33333 Episode 24 didn't feel like it was leading to an ending at all, so I wondered how it would be possible to wrap things up in Episode 25. I dearly hoped we wouldn't get an abrupt ending. The ending was pretty good and made things feel like they've come full circle with how we're starting a new school year. All the characters continue working toward their goals. I really feel like we've only caught a glimpse of their journey. There's still so much more, so I hope one day there will be a season 2 where we can visit these characters again. Especially Taichi. XD;

New Prince of Tennis
13 episodes was seriously too short. Also, all the good matches were cut!! I've heard that they'll be included as specials... but narrative-wise, it would have made much more sense to have them done when they were supposed to happen. Less disappointment too. This series had a ridiculous amount of still screens, but what can you do when there are so many characters... I wished characters on screen were at least all voiced... I thought hitting the shots in the forest was silly. It made no sense to me for tennis balls to come at them while they're running like that. It would take some timing for their opponents to be able to hit balls to them like that! I was hoping the series would expand on scenes, but instead it cut scenes out... the only expanded scene I really liked a lot was the ina-bauer one. Still... I'm hoping we'll get another season some day!

SKET Dance
...has not ended! \o/ Yay yay! Another year of SKET Dance! But episode 51 seriously felt like an ending episode, and if that had been the last episode, it would have felt perfect (which I think was probably the original plan when SKET Dance was slated for 51 episodes). This episode was all about Tsubaki. <333 He and Bossun write that ridiculous poster together. I can't stop laughing about it. And then, it was the "nice to meet you" part. My teeeaaars. Finally, the first opening came on, with scenes from the entire series in the background. Totally felt like the very end. Good thing it's not. XD I look forward to what the new opening will be~

Hunter x Hunter and Area no Kishi are still ongoing. Those will be the only two ongoing series from previous seasons I'm following now! I fell behind with Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou, Poyopoyo, and Recorder to Randoseru (how did I manage to fall behind with a 3 minute per episode series...).

New season, I'm definitely following Kimi to Boku season 2, Kuroko no Basuke (sports anime! \o/ I've read a good chunk of the manga, Kuroko is unique~) and will probably follow Eureka Seven AO (no clue if it's an actual sequel or not of E7). Don't know what else I might check out and attempt to follow. Ooooh, but KENN is voicing one of the brothers in Uchuu Kyoudai (the premise sounds interesting too, two brothers wanting to become astronauts) so I might check that out. Other series I might check out: Hiiro no Kakera (I like otome games and reverse harems), Accel World (virtual worlds!), Ginga e Kickoff (sports anime!)... and then I have no idea what else. :3;;

Flipping through my PairPuri volume 2 and was surprised when I came upon Okiayu Ryoutarou's signature on his picture. (There's an interview between him and Hosoya included since he voices Tezuka and Hosoya voices Shiraishi). I forgot I asked him to sign it. XD;; Goodness, how bad can my memory be.. OTL.

What did I have Kiuchi Hidenobu sign... Oh right, PairPuri 3. XD; Since he voices Oshitari. His signature said "To Lucathia-san." The "a" in Lucathia almost ran into Fukuyama Jun's face. XDDD (Fukuyama Jun voices Kenya).

Tenipuri one coin grande figures
I dropped Yukimura! His capejacket came off. THE HORROR. I then took Zaizen with me in my purse because I was trying to look for a case to put all of my figures in, and when I took him out, his head fell off. CUE MORE HORROR. I think... they were made that way though, so I stuck his head back on... it's just a bit loose now... (Perhaps talk about my poor figures would be more effective with pictures. LOL)

Translations
I am so, so behind with writing and with translations. On the menu today: finally do proofreading (for two different things) and do more translating. I dislike the feeling of being behind. For some reason, I seem to have almost landed with one of the leadership positions of a certain translation group... how has this happened? Well, I'm both excited (and amused) and... not excited. The stress! Please just let me be a mindless drone with my entertainment. I have had my taste of leadership, and I say let other people do it so I can just enjoy the product. :'D Whatever happens, I won't be the leader leader though, so I should be fine...

Writing
Reread all of Bittersweet Sweetness. Hm, I seemed to have had a better handle on Judgment and Sun's voice near the beginning. They're getting sappier and sappier now. :'( I seem to have lost my momentum. *pokes at part 17* This part at least should be done soon though, and then I can get the story going again.

springkink prompt collecting has started. Go toss in prompts! \o/ Prompts go up March 3, posting starts May. I didn't manage to write anything last round. Hoping this time will be different...

On the TCG side:
-finally caught up with my duties over at colors_tcg. It feels good not being behind. New release should go up today. Will happen after I make a new layout for the site...
