Some manga I bought over the past few months (not all pictured...uh, need to find the rest). I also need to find room for everything. :') I have other miscellaneous stuff I bought over 2018 that I'll be organizing over the next few days.

Zero got his own spinoff. :'D Also that spinoff for those criminals (always pictured as a silhouette) from Detective Conan is pretty funny. Now they will be known as Hanzawa-san, hahaha. I also picked up Pinpon Rush by Minami Maki, since I did enjoy Seiyuu Ka except for the ending. Though this series ended pretty early so it might not be all that developed. Kind of curious to see La Corda d'Oro return with a college story. It's been so many years. :') (I feel like a lot of old series are returning with continuations...) Akatsuki no Yona fanbook! Happy to see that it's larger than normal manga. I finally bought the last two volumes of Usotsuki no Lily. I liked it a lot in the beginning (especially the humor) but didn't care for some of the stuff near the middle. But I did enjoy her next series, Kamisama no Ekohiiki. Might be time for a reread to get the most out of the ending. I also picked up volume 1 of the pocket edition of Kara no Teikoku, to go along with v2 and 3. Still one of my favorite series. Great to complete my Japanese collection of it some more (I already have it in Chinese and English).

Also got two guidebooks for Fire Emblem Cipher since I've been curious about those cipher cards. Since it's hard to buy the actual cards, I thought an artbook or guidebook would be nice since I'm not actually going to play the card game. I just want the cards. The artbooks are super limited though... so guidebooks it is for now. I picked up volume 3 and 5 because they have some Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn stuff in them.

Spring anime

I actually finished watching a handful of anime. 8D

Kamigami no Asobi, Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii, La Corda d Oro Blue Sky, Hitsugi no Chaika, Isshuukan Friends, Yowamushi Pedal )

LSK V7C4 )

I'll be heading off to Anime Expo this Wednesday! Hope to see you there if you're going as well! I'll be cosplaying Tsukito from Kamigami no Asobi and Sugawara from Haikyuu!! (I'm still working on both cosplays, ahahaha) This means I probably won't be on LJ much until I return. No fic updates either until Sunday or later. (...man, I never did post about my AX 2013 experience... I'll have to do that sometime... a retrospective post haha...) I can be reached via Plurk or email while I'm away!

Oh man, the musical finished its run in March! You can watch the trailer here. There are also some cast interviews on that page. It looks like a cute musical. They have an orchestra too! I was wondering what exactly a La Corda d'Oro musical would be like...from the trailer, it looks like they're actually acting out the story. I wonder if the actors sing, or if it's all instrumental, classical music played by the orchestra? Lili has a double cast and is played by two young girls. I hope they have a DVD release of this! XD

I bought volume 14 of the manga a while back but I still haven't finished reading it. I used to keep up with all the latest chapters, but now I wait for the volume releases. :3 Ah, still need to buy the latest game...but La Corda d'Oro games are so much more involved than Gakuensai. XD; Requires planning, haha.
La Corda d'Oro
There's going to be a musical. |D With...Takahashi Yuuta as Tsuchiura and Shindo Gaku as Kanazawa-sensei to name a few familiar faces for me. I wonder what it'll be like...there's been plenty of concerts for the series and seiyuu events but never a musical. I don't think it's a very large scale one.

Also, the newest game for Corda will feature Hihara at age 25 as a graduate of the school. Hihara in the future. *___* (And finally, older than me.) This news makes me very happy.

Dissidia
Woot, finished 9 out of 10 paths in Destiny Odyssey. I played Cloud -> Cecil -> Terra -> Zidane -> Tidus -> Firion -> Squall -> Onion Knight -> Bartz. Now I'm with the Warrior of Light, who is pretty average. I didn't like using Cecil, but I'm very curious about the light versus dark part of his story. Makes me want to play FFIV. I hated using Zidane...I'm no good with him and his air attacks. =/ Tidus was all right. Firion's weapons were much love. It's cool to see him with so many weapons. Squall was fairly easy to use. Such an antisocial guy. Finally got to hear his "Gone talking to a wall" line. XDDD It's in his character description too! I liked using Onion Knight and finally found that I could purchase extra accessory slots when I was playing as him. I totally thought they were shared between characters, so I purchased a bunch...and then found it was per character. Ahahaha. So now my Onion Knight has a bunch of slots! He's also my highest level character so far (I think this is only because I kept going "What's this ? space? I must find out!! It was mostly enemies instead of treasure). Bartz is such a funny guy. I cracked up when he said something like, "Sweet Cosmos! It's a talking rock!" when he found a summonstone. It was pretty cool when he wielded Cloud and Squall's swords. :3

The characters sure have changed with each new game. The series started out with knights in armor, gallant characters, light against dark, etc. There was gradually less and less armor and more emo and antisocial feelings going around, haha.

Tenipuri
I bought PairPuri 2 and 3 today, and finally the Tenipuri 2010 calendar! I didn't see it in stock at my bookstore all through December. I had to buy the displayed one today since it was the last one. Still, it's in pretty good condition. ♥ So cute~. I thought I might have had to order it online.

I spent the most money on doujinshi while in Japan. They really added up. I didn't have a single doujinshi before this. Now my collection has...exploded. They're still spread over my floor. My relatives were quite curious about what they were, so I found myself explaining about Comiket and doujinshi and all that. They were impressed with the whole notion (especially self printing). Good thing all of my doujinshi are quite safe for everyone. XD;; Some of these were bought at Comiket. Some were at used book shops.

Recent anime and manga I've been following:

La Corda d'Oro secondo passo special - Eee, I haven't thought about Corda much lately. This...only 2 episodes? I wanted to screencap a lot of scenes, but I was eating dinner while watching. :'D I can't get used to the summer uniforms and kept staring at Fuyuumi's to see how the music and normal department ones were different. First episode featured Kira a lot. He sure moves fast. Read more... )

One Outs episode 24 - Only one more episode until the end. ): The series can get a little repetitive, but I'll still miss it. I laughed a lot watching this episode. Usually, Toua's antics make me smirk or snort, but today I was laughing so hard. Read more... )

Bokurano 58-60 - Machiii. Ushiroooo. I think scanlations have mostly caught up with the Japanese releases? I only have raws up to ch.60. Read more... )

SHAMAN KING KANGZENG BANG - Okay, first, the Marco fight? Totally gives Marco the spotlight he deserves. Little Marco is cute and Lyserg in glasses is just lajdkl;fa;. And now, the "true" ending. It makes me rethink my old SK fanfics (oh how wrong I was with the Shaman King theory). And Horo Horo. Read more... )

Lately, I've also been rewatching and rereading parts of PoT to gather material for [livejournal.com profile] twistserve_tcg. I finally finished reading the series last week. I couldn't bring myself to read the last few chapters for the longest time. Part of it had to do with who had to sit out for the final match. X3;; And the other part was just feeling weird that the series actually ended (after following it for so long). All these cool new moves and new characters make me wish Konami would make a new Prince of Tennis tennis game like Form the Strongest Team. I absolutely love that game.
Just finished watching Vampire Knight this morning. Zero reminds me so much of Tsukimori. It doesn't help that Yuuki reminds me a bit of Hino too...and that Kaname is voiced by the same seiyuu as Yunoki's. I like Hino a lot better though, since she's more interested in her violin than in the guys around her. At least in the anime.

comparison pics! )

...apparently someone sort of thought along the same lines as me.

La Corda d'Oro parody of Vampire Knight. Very similar to what I was thinking of, except Kaji is cast as Zero because both are voiced by Miyano Mamoru. Tsukimori would have fit better personality and appearance-wise!

I thought this was funny too, though it has nothing to do with the above mentions of La Corda d'Oro. Vampire Knight OP gets turned into a BL one. Was amusing. I kind of like the OP song, especially how it comes on after a short OP sequence in each episode.

---In character meme---

Thanks to everyone who commented on the in character meme. <3 I know that [livejournal.com profile] disutansu commented as more than one person (I CAN TELL!! =P ). Now, anonymous people...want to fess up? XD; I'm reaaaally curious, especially with Niou and Yagyuu and their lovely chat that spanned quite a few comments. And the cutest Mihashi, though I'm pretty sure I know who you are. XDDD

---fanbook update---

Also, I updated with translations of Yunoki's portion from the La Corda Memorial Book over at [livejournal.com profile] fanbook. Rich text gives me a headache. Good thing I post at ungodly hours. Hopefully I haven't screwed up anyone's f-list with my non-functioning lj-cuts. This was meant to be for his bday, but I'm what, two months late? ^^;;

---trading card stuff---

I'm spending way too much time on [livejournal.com profile] anime_lj_tcg and yet I still don't have a lot of cards. And I haven't even mastered a deck yet!! I'm sort of getting there? =X I need 8 more cards to finish my DNA (Niwa Daisuke) deck. I think I'm starting on the Pride deck next (Ishida from Bleach!) since I have a lot of those already, though I kind of want to collect TheEND (Anemone's deck~) and otaku (Konata's deck~) too.

I wish there were more characters I liked though. Some Corda ones or Tenipuri ones would be awesome.
Last episode! My blogs are so random. X3; And, mostly just pics. Little prose. Because the pics are pretty.

From last episode's preview...it was pretty much given that he'd be back. (with the sun behind him, dazzling Hino!)

Mm, with all those pretty stills, I'm thinking that I should make some alternatives for my moodtheme. :3
Revamped my userinfo a few days back to make it look neater...though it's not any shorter! I also updated the list of challenges I'm participating on in LJ. Good to know all my deadlines and such.

Lately, I've been transcribing and translating a few La Corda d'Oro songs for [profile] icerydragon's fansite, Crescendo. I saved all of the ones I've posted to [profile] la_corda_doroin my memories. :) So yeah, that's why I'm a bit...inactive with updating my actual journals. ^^;; That, and evil midterms too. But anyway...transcribing songs really makes me pay attention to these songs so much more. I usually just listen to songs and hear the words slurred. For songs in any language whatsoever. *doesn't have a good ear for lyrics*

I was going to submit them to animelyrics.tv too, but after I passed their proficiency tests, the site went down. Now that it's back up again, my accounts gone. Meh, I don't feel like doing the tests again. At least not right now.  I should have saved my answers.

Oh, and before I forget. Pimping [community profile] fanbookto all of you on my flist. It's a community dedicated to translating fanbooks! I haven't really done anything with the community yet though. Too lazy too actually promote it or get it underway. A main icon would be nice. Layout too. -_-;;

edit: Oh yeah. I still only have 35 icons used out of 102. I seriously need to correct that. X3; (What, and only 12 are fishbones/kitty related? Blasphemy!!

First up, just who is Fuyuumi hiding from? XD;;

And on the Corda game, the first one. Damn you Tsukimori, for being so hard to get. I think it'll be quite a while before I get the second game since I'm still very much exploring the first game.
[personal profile] cynicalism, I DID IT!! I finally finished my very first moodtheme. It literally took me weeks. I holed myself up today to finish this. Seriously, [profile] blahchiharu, I don't see how you do it. Making moodthemes takes forever!!!

I don't think I'm going to make any more moodthemes anytime soon. XD;; It's a good thing I made this for myself. I'm totally using this. (SO IT'S NOT GOING TO WASTE!!) You've probably already seen me using it already (unfinished version though...only had a few of the moods.) Hee, I love a lot of these pics.
*sigh* I've finished reading up the the current chapter. Now I have to wait. D= I guess I'll go off and play the game in the meantime.

Here are translations of profiles from volumes 3 and up of La Corda d'Oro. There was one line that I was entirely unsure of so I left untranslated...

Nami Amou )
I'm usually pretty bad at recognizing seiyuu, but it's sooo fun when I do recognize someone's voice.

I was just watching Busou Renkin today...it's been a while since I last watched an episode. In the episode that I was watching, Hayasaki Shuusui was narrating quite a bit and I immediately thought, "Hey, his voice sounds like Tsukimori Len's from La Corda d'Oro." So I checked animenewsnetwork, and yup, it's the same seiyuu. :D

I didn't notice it before...since, well, I didn't start watching La Corda d'Oro until after I started Busou Renkin. I've never heard any memorable roles from Kishou Taniyama until La Corda. Tsukimori's voice is just that memorable, especially with how he says "Ore ni wa kankei nai."

Busou Renkin and La Corda d'Oro are still my favorite two series from this season. They're the only two anime that I've been following faithfully. I've sort of lost interest in the rest...like Death Note and D.Gray-man. I haven't checked out a lot of other anime yet though...

The opening for Busou Renkin is much love. I always watch it without skipping it whenever I watch an episode. It's so upbeat and the images fit the music really well. Even though I already read most of the manga, I still found myself tearing up a bit at a few scenes. I'm really liking the anime so far because it's really well animated. Shuusui and Ouka's introductions were a bit sudden, in my opinion, but it still worked. So yeah, the anime's a bit fast-paced, but I guess that contributes to the action. Since this is a 26 episode anime and the manga already ended, I'm pretty sure that the anime will follow the manga closely towards the end. (Yay!!)

As for La Corda d'Oro, I watched the first episode one day when I was writing my essay...and instantly fell in love. Right after, I bought the PSP version of the game and I've started reading the manga too. So far, I'm on volume 2. :D I really love all the characters, especially Hihara. But really, all the guys are just so lovable.
